Today Raymond (groomsman) and I had the chance to stop by 2 of the hotels that I listed under "Accommodations" section. Our first stop was at Hotel Huntington Beach which is located just off the 405 Fwy and Beach Blvd and only 3.5 miles away from our venue. It is situated right in between the lovely shops at Bella Terra and a 24hour fitness center. The parking situation is pretty straight forward as well. There is a small lot directly in front of the hotel which makes loading and unloading very easy. The newly renovated main lobby is not too bad. It looks more like night club lounge than a fancy hotel, but it is definitely better than it looked before the renovation. Our first stop was to a 6th floor suite. The famous room #601. Let me start by saying that I was not impressed by the stains on the couch, the vintage 22" tube tv, or the faulty bathroom plumbing (inside joke, but since I know you are curious, I took a dump in our room visit and I'll just say it had some trouble going down).. On the bright side, the overall size of the room was not that bad and it only costs $139 per night. I guess we can't get it all for such a low price. I might even consider one for myself.

The next room we visited was a standard (King Bed) room on the 8th floor and I definitely think this is the way to go. The 8th floor aspect is VERY important because these rooms have been recently renovated to look somewhat decent (picture at right). The even include in 32" flat screen tv which isn't even included in the suite we visited. Anyway, all i'm trying to get at is the 8th floor renovated rooms are definitely the way to go if you are looking for a cheap sleep on the night of the wedding. Rates start at only $95. Not too bad at all.
Next, we stopped by the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. Located right off the popular Pacific Coast Highway and within walking distance of Main Street in Huntington Beach, this is definitely a step (or ten) up from Hotel Huntington Beach. The first thing I have to complain about is the lack of a self parking structure. Valet Parking can be convenient, but at $25 per night, I really wish I could just park it myself. Anyway once inside, I forgot about the parking situation. I'll just say that it's a pretty nice hotel. I have nothing to complain about in the department. Every room in the hotel has a view and there are 3 main choices of views. You can opt for the sunrise view, sunset, view, or the ocean view. And I won't go into much more detail about the rooms. Instead, I'll just say that these rooms go into the $250+ per night range... See it's a good thing I didn't go into the rooms in detail right? :).
The third hotel I have listed under the "accommodations" tab is the Hyatt Huntington Beach, But with prices exceeding those of the Hilton, I didn't even bother to stop by. I just thought I would give you guys some options. :)
